Mary Karin (Karin) Carpenter

Marriage & Family Therapist Trainee
Supervised by Darla Gale LMFT #92413
Mary Karin (Karin) is a therapist trainee currently completing her advanced clinical training at Jessup University. As an active first responder, Karin brings a unique, real-world perspective to the therapeutic space.
She understands firsthand the weight of high-stress environments, acute crisis, and safety-critical situations, bringing that same steady, grounded presence to clients of all ages.
Karin builds on the foundations of resiliency and positivity. She believes that while pain, impulses, and unexpected life events are inevitable, individuals possess an inherent capacity to adapt, survive, and discover profound meaning. Rather than just treating symptoms, Karin collaborates with individuals and youth to explore questions of purpose, safety, identity, and choice during life's most challenging chapters. She focuses heavily on navigating difficult life changes such as career shifts, family restructuring, as well as helping clients process profound grief and honor their loss while rebuilding a path forward.
Karin provides a collaborative, non-judgmental, and culturally humble environment. She blends evidence-based trauma practices and behavioral intervention with existential philosophy. This approach helps clients process raw experiences, understand their impulses, and explore how to live safely and authentically in the wake of adversity. Whether you are a parent seeking specialized support for your child, a couple navigating stress, or an individual facing a major life pivot, Karin is dedicated to helping you build the psychological resilience needed to thrive.
Karin is always looking for the next great view, whether it's from a mountain top or the front row of a concert. She is passionate about exploring new cultures, hitting the hiking trails, and collecting unforgettable memories around the world. She loves her cats and also enjoys wine tasting.
